Greek Festival 2017 - Kazantzakis: Sixty Years On - Saturday 1st April

Presented by Howard Dossor & Zdenko Zlatar

A tribute to the writer and thinker Nikos Kazantzakis — author of Zorba, Christ Recrucified, Spiritual Exercises and a modern Odyssey — marking sixty years since his death.
The event will focus on a presentation of two books on Kazantzakis by our guest speaker Howard Dossor.
Howard Dossor’s existentialist approach to the work of Nikos Kazantzakis will be introduced by Dr Vassilis Adrahtas’ opening remarks on the question: Is an existentialist reading of Kazantzakis possible? In the same existentialist vein, Dr Zdenko Zlatar will conclude the event with his talk on Kazantzakis and El Greco: The Poetics of Exile.

Presented by the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (Sydney Branch) under the Festival’s auspices. Refreshments kindly provided by the Cretan Association of Sydney and NSW.
